Photo sharing site Flickr just increased their file size limits for photo uploads. Pro users will see upload limits jump from 20mb per photo to 50mb per photo while free account users will see an increase from 15mb per photo to 30mb. This stems from the need for Flickr to stay relevant with Other sites like 500px annoucning that they will be increasing their limits to 60mb and Smugmug raising their cap to 50mb. With a slew of new high megapixel cameras hitting the market that often spit out Jpeg files in excess of 20mb, this is a welcome and needed change.

YouTube Adds Video Editing Feature

Earlier this week video sharing site YouTube added a video editing feature to the popular website. Though it’s not quite Final Cut Pro, the online editor does have a gamut of “quick fixes”  including:

  • Rotate
  • Trim
  • Stabilize
  • Color temperature
  • Saturation
  • Contrast

Also included in classic Google style is the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button which attempts to correct the video for you. There are also a slew of video effects for you to play with though I wouldn’t recommend using most of them if you want people to watch your videos from start to finish. Google was nice enough to also include a library of free audio tracks to choose from though the current selection is quite limited.

Being a photographer and creative type, G+ has really been a great way for me to share the things I love and also surround myself with like minded creative people. So I decided to create a list featuring my 15 personal favorite creative people on Google plus! If you like what they have shared, I encourage you to add them into your Google+ circles. Also, if you feel so inclined, add me to to your Google+ circles as well.

The Motorola Droid

I have had the Motorola Droid since 11am today, and so far i like what i am seeing. thats not to say it isn’t without its quirks, but in the grand scheme of things i like the device a lot. i have been a sucker for apple products the past few years, and had an iPhone for a short period of time, but the less than usable AT&T signal in my area pushed me back over to big red where i suffered on a blackberry curve for several months.
