Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing two wonderful individuals. They recently got Engaged and wanted simple photos that they could share with family and friends to celebrate the occasion. This shoot was simple, it was shot on location at the bride to be’s family property. This provided a beautiful rural setting for the shoot. The fresh coat of snow made it easy to decide on a theme, and that was winter. Both out of necessity and keeping with the theme, our couple bundled up and we headed out to shoot. Here is just a few of the photos.

As you will see with these photos, some are candid, some are posed, but the one thing the candid and posed shots share is that nearly all of them have some unpredictable element to them. You can pose a shot, but you can never be certain what you will get, especially with other people around. Jokes can get cracked at a crucial moment, causing wonderful laughter during a posed shot like the second photo. The point is, capturing the reality of life can happen even in a posed photo, and that is a wonderful thing.
